Looking back at the semester , the housing studio ,it brings a smile to our faces . The one semester we all dreaded , thinking of how we’ll manage something of such a scale that too alone which on top of everything had to be done digitally.! It was a semester full of discussions and brainstorming sessions where we unlearned to learn, of being encouraged to take up responsibilities like we have never before. Most of all the credit goes to our studio faculties for giving us the freedom and never for once discouraging us. For the first time each and every thought was heard and we were always appreciated for the effort. A studio where we even started a green campaign as a class and started to make a difference . A studio where we got shortlisted for Rueben’s trophy ! ~ Sherin ~

When a semester pushes one half of the students to almost quit and run away, and the other half to question their mental state, you know it was one hell of a '4 month' journey. While the whole thing sounds depressing, we are more than proud to say this was one of the most informative, different and daring semester yet. The first few weeks were fun, revisiting the past horrors of services and structure, and throwing us into the digital world, where the whole "working on a computer's gonna be much easier than on paper" debacle got a bit too hard to follow. Confused and frustrated with the 'Ctrl's of Autocad and the 'Shift's of Illustrator, we caught up with it towards the end. kinda. The second phase was around what we knew best - literature study. This too, was handled differently, as we looked over the built and learnt more about the minds behind them and the process which made them. The high point of the semester. The third phase was a

When the studio began and our teachers listed the plan of events during the course of semester we were very much anxious about the new semester and how it was going to work out. The fact that this semester was going to unfold into a happy one was a mystery then. The various discussions, disputes and agreements all added to our growth. The mountain of work which we thought was impossible for one person was accomplished by each one of was. The best thing was we were evaluated on the process not the end result. The various live case studies, site studies which forced us to go outside the walls of the classroom only made us better human beings. We interacted with different people and studied their problems. The independence our teachers gave us not only pushed us to work harder but gave us the happiness to work that was missing for us. Jury day came and ended faster than us falling asleep in class. But the cherry on top of the cake was after jury Vishnu sir telling us to m

S7 gave us the exposure these last six semesters couldn't. The complete processes and working methodology was entirely different from what we learned through the years. Basically, this semester was all about calculations and planning. The initial phases were going in a flow, but we dint knew the floods had plans to interrupt us.The pace raced as the span shortened and the as the realisation of actual workload happened. The faculties encouraged and hyped up our expectations like we would actually build what we designed; although we realised through halfway that we were already messed up! One thing i realised through this process was to avoid procrastination(especially while going through new methodology like using softwares) and to think before making each move(like as in chess),since TIME IS A VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR in architecture, especially in planning. And as you keep going through the each semesters and processes, you slowly start to realise your actual field of interests and the ch

Little to a little bit more New faces New names, From distinct lives, To many ways; . From nothing familiar, To something similar. . Lived as one, And to more as one, Lives changed , Spirits mended. . So much more to learn, So much to know. . Five years very little, Time flies fast they say; It is true I say. . Memories made, One day at a time; One day at a time, To look back at. ~r.r.
